ABVV-FGTB – Algemeen Belgisch Vakverbond-Fédération générale du travail de Belgique is the Socialist trade union organization in Belgium. Its strategy is directed towards achieving, through reforms, a Socialist planned economy. Workers’ self-management remains the formal objective. It is the second largest trade union organization in Belgium; in terms of blue-collar workers it is in fact the largest. The ABVV-FGTB has for a long time had structures specifically concerned with the range of problems associated with work-life balance and of rule of collective bargaining in this contest.
